DR. K. NARASIMHA REDDY

M.Sc, Ph.D, FAPAS, FWIF

Dr. Katta Narasimha Reddy received his M.Sc and Ph.D degrees in Physics from the Osmania University, Hyderabad. He obtained advanced training in Script writing and Film Direction from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics; Osmania University in 1980 later became Associate Professor in 1987 and Professor in 1998. Being the faculty member, he was actively engaged in Teaching, esearch,Institutional building and academic administration. Before taking over as the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, he was holding the positions of Head Department of Physics and Chairman, Board of Studies in Hearing Languages & Speech, Coordinator of UGC-SAP and DST-FIST Programs. He was the Chairman of Board of Studies in Materials Science and Nanotechnology of Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa. All through his 31 years of service in the University Dr. Reddy has been working closely with students, teachers, colleagues and university authorities at Osmania University to promote academic excellence and educational partnerships.

He has been an active teacher and researcher in the field of Solid State Physics and Materials Science, Prof. Narasimha Reddy has held post-doctoral and visiting research professor positions in International Center for Theoretical Physics, Trieste (Italy), University of Rome II"Tor Vergata" (Italy), and University of Canterbury (New Zealand). He has published extensively (about 105 refereed research publications in
international journals) in different areas of Solid State Physics and Materials Science. Over 08 doctoral researchers have been guided by him, all of them now occupying leading positions in academia and R&D in India. His research publications have received over 500 citations during the last 25 years. Widely traveled all over the world, Dr. Reddy has presented papers, given invited and plenary lectures, chaired sessions in
a large number of National and International conferences ( India, USA, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, China). He has hosted several National and International conferences and seminars.

He is the Life Member of many professional bodies like New York Academy of Sciences, Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences, Foundation member and Secretary of Society for advancement of Solid state Sciences, Materials research Society of America, Life Member and Secretary of Indian Society for Radiation Physics (Hyderabad chapter), International Society for Solid State Ionics, Indian Association of Physics Teachers and Indian Crystallographer's Association.

Recognizing Dr. Reddy's role in Research and Development, he was elected as the "Fellow of the World Innovation Foundation (FWIF)" by the prestigious world body (founded by Nobel laureates) having its Head quarters in Huddersfield, United Kingdom in the year 2004 and elected Fellow of A.P. Academy of Sciences for the year 2004. Presently Dr. Reddy is the Vice president of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Reddy is the Associate Editor of Journal of Pure and applied Physics (JPAP) and Review editor of Journal of Materials Chemistry and Physics. He has Research collaboration with Solid State Ionics Laboratory, Department of Physics, Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA and Department of Electrical Engineering and Physics, Wilkes University, Pen State, United States of America. He has organized six International Conferences and more than Ten National conferences.
